When Blackmagic released Blackmagic RAW (BRAW) at IBC 2018 I was excited.
Blackmagic released the BRAW for the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K a couple of days ago with the Blackmagic Camera 6.2 update and I wanted to shoot and upload some files for testing, like I did with ProRes RAW after NAB 2018.
Here is a totally non scientific clip in UHD BRAW 8:1 clip.
Minor grading, a little sharpness and stabilizer (was shot handheld standing on my skis…) exported in H.264 – recorded on a 128GB Lexar Professional 1000x SDXC UHS-II card.
Shot on Samyang 24mm T1.5 Cine Lens with the Viltrox m2 adapter.
If you want to play with the file yourself, you can download them here:
BRAW test file 1 ~2GB (Constant bitrate, 8:1, UHD)
BRAW test file 2 ~500mb (Constant Quality, Q0, HD)
BRAW test file 3 ~500mb (Constant Quality, Q5, 4K DCI)
If you play with it and upload it somewhere, please credit me/Filmplusgear for the footage and let me know where I can see what you got out of it. Thanks!
Did you see my post on the Pocket 6K camera?
